After working for most of my adult life as a scientist in New Mexico, finely after retiring, I was able to pursue my life time passion for art. My “formal” art training has been thru attending art workshops, continuing education courses and more recently at Dona Ana Community College in Las Cruces. I have enjoyed exploring and working in many art mediums throughout the years. Classes in welding put me on my current art path of welding steel into 3 dimensional objects. I love re-purposing old, often discarded steel object into outdoor sculptures. Inserts of fused glass or ceramics contrast with the hardness of the steel and add an extra dimension to the work.
I can be contacted at mlacassearts@gmail.com or 575-649-0182. My outdoor garden studio/gallery is at 3723 Lucky Lindy Ln. in Las Cruces. Call for a personal tour of my studio/gallery. I look forward to visiting with you.
